Philosophy #125

“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.”
― Confuciusconfucius.1

Confucius’s quotes have a way to, not only getting deep in my soul, but they stay there for endless hours of reflection. I would like to say so much about this quote, but I want to see what you guys think about this quote. Share your feelings about it, experience about it and opinion about it. Stay amazing and never forget to stay unique.

Leave your thoughts about this quote, I am intrigued to read how you perceive this quote or how you can dissect it further. Thank you and don’t forget to think, for a thing will be just a thing, until you think beyond that thing.

  1. Reflection and imitation go hand-in-hand, as I believe Confucius sought followers, so going about both would reflect and imitate his thoughts. As for the other, experience is bitterness but it is also what we make of it, hence reflect and imitate. The circle of life. Does he miss anything necessary to live? I would say go into the world and make change. Of course the quote makes you think and that is what philosophy is for so I like the quote very much. Thanks for sharing.
