Philosophy #126

“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.”
― Confucius

Statue of Confucius at Temple in Shanghai, China

Eight words that we should remember when we are in a deep hole. Eight words that we should memorize before we even learn how to navigate this world: “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” Profound and powerful words that echoed deep in my inner world. Those eight words helped me see the beauty in the chaos that we are living today. They helped me realize how beautiful and profound my suffering, pain, sorrow and ache, are.

Why do we only contemplate the perfection of the roses, or the beauty in a sunny day? Why do we refuse to see the majestic wisdom in a night full of rain or a cold, empty day? Beauty is much more than what makes us feel good, beauty is in everything because everything is perfect, not complete, but perfect nonetheless.

Perhaps Confucius saw the perfection and beauty in the things that you and I deemed ugly. Perhaps he saw the divine connection of everything. There are so many things that we will never understand, and that is perfectly OK, but what is not OK is to go through this life “refusing” to see the beauty in every single thing that comes into contact with us. Everything has a purpose, everything was designed to be perfect and to one day reach the level of completion.

Suffering is beautiful, not to inflict suffering onto others, but our own suffering is. I say that our suffering is beautiful because it pushes us to complete ourselves, it pushes us to be more, to find the balance that is essential for completion. Suffering transmute us into something even more divine that what we already are. See the beauty in your pain, welcome it and let it change you into something that has no limits.

We are here for a reason, each one of us have our own personal reasons, we may not remember, but soon enough it will come to us. While you are walking your own path, the one that you are here to experience, never forget to see the positive in the negative, in fact, there is no positive or negative, all is energy and we label it positive or negative. Beauty is all around us, stop covering your eyes and see it; experience every aspect of your life because everything around us is a divine connection to each other.

You are all beautiful and do not forget to remind each other how great we all are. Perfection is not just a word, it is us pretending to be imperfect. Stay grounded and see through everything that comes to you, all has a meaning, it all depends on your perception. “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.”

Leave your thoughts about this quote, I am intrigued to read how you perceive this quote or how you can dissect it further. Thank you and don’t forget to think, for a thing will be just a thing, until you think beyond that thing.

  2. Like this written piece is beautiful 🙂
You know, I’ve been thinking lately; maybe it is not about achieving to be complete, or balance. Maybe it is about just go with the flow and learn to ‘dance’ on the road, whether it rains or whether the sun shines. Learning to be happy, even knowing some answers will never been given…
