Like A Child……. You Obey

“Go to the corner,
It has your name on it.”
And so they treat you worse than a foreigner;
Tell you what to say, what to do and even when to quit.

Like a child, you obey;
Making yourself miserable,
Just because they say.

Your soul gets jammed
And you start to lose your mind.
Their disbelief gets passed from one hand
To the next, hoping that could make you blind.

Chances passed you by
And you were curled in your corner,
Hopelessly waiting to touch the sky,
Instead of enduring their torture.

Indeed the window of opportunity closed,
But you have to remember that there is a door…….
A door that will stay in place and it will be exposed
Not only to you, but to the ones that never wanted more.
